Intermediate Salsa on 1

Take your salsa skills a leap forward by joining this fun and engaging class. All moves and techniques from beginner salsa are expanded upon, in addition to new moves and more involved partner work. By completing intermediate salsa, you will be able to social dance confidently in most dance venues around Vancouver.

Still hungry for more salsa technique and styling? This class focuses on perfecting fundamental movements and creating a sexier, more confident dimension to your dancing, by focusing on both individual and partner-work styling.

Beginner Cuban Salsa
Pre-requisite: No previous dance experience.

This will be your introduction to the world of Cuban Salsa. You will learn the basic steps and turns, as well as some nice combinations. We’ll also place emphasis on your body movement and the logic of leading and following. The instructor’s overall goal is to show you how accessible and versatile the Cuban style is.

Intermediate Cuban Salsa
Pre-requisite: Successfully completed a beginner Cuban salsa class (or consult with the instructor if you haven’t but have relevant dance experience).

A continuation of beginner Cuban Salsa. You will learn more combinations to build upon previous knowledge and steps.

Beginner Bachata
Pre-requisite: No previous dance experience.

Salsa clubs are great places to dance, but they don’t just play salsa. In fact, the salsa scene has a variety of dances in it which compliment salsa nights. Bachata, originating in the Dominican Republic, is one of the sexiest and most commonly played and danced dance styles in Vancouver and all over the world.

Intermediate Bachata
Pre-requisite: Successfully completed a beginner level bachata class otherwise, consult with the instructor if you haven’t but have relevant dance experience.

A continuation of beginner bachata, the intermediate level focuses on both technique and adding to your repertoire of moves while keeping it fun.

Bachata Choreo
Pre-requisite: Successfully completed an intermediate level bachata class, otherwise consult with the instructor if you have relevant dance experience.

If you’d like to be part of the LDC performance group, this is the class for you! A choreography is put together throughout the term to be showcased at end of the term/end of the year events!

Argentine Tango (beginner)
Pre-requisite: No previous dance experience.

An interpretive, improvisational social dance developed in Buenos Aires,  Argentina, Tango allows dancers to express themselves freely and to develop a connection between themselves, the music, and the environment in which they are dancing.
